Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>-TiO<sub>2</sub> coatings deposition by intermixed and double injection SPS concepts

Abstract This work focuses on the study novel hybrid method of simultaneous spraying from two different materials (Al 2 O 3 and TiO ) by means suspension plasma (SPS) using submicron powder water suspension. The goal was to attempt deposition intermixed alumina-titania coatings, namely: Al + wt.% , 13 40 . Such compositions are already used but in form conventionally sprayed with micrometer-sized powder. Meanwhile, injection feedstocks submicron-sized particles has not been established yet. In particular, this paper uses routes feedstock injection, (i) use an (ii) a double separate suspensions. attention paid characterization materials, description parameters as well morphology, microstructure, phase composition obtained coatings. Among all contained most homogeneously distributed melted splats. results demonstrate possibility coating both concepts also need for further application-relevant optimization, related presence intercolumnar gaps microstructure
